London in the ICCA rankings

Primrose Hill, London
Since 2008, London has climbed 12 places in the global statistics.

London has remained in the top 10 (by number of meetings) for the past four years in the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) rankings. It is the benchmark by which cities measure their international association congresses against other cities worldwide.

Recent highlights include:

  • KDD: London welcomed a record 3,300 delegates for the world’s oldest and most important conference on data science. It attracted $1.2m worth of sponsorship from more than 50 companies.

  • IADR: London was the backdrop for the 96th International Association for Dental Research General Session & Exhibition. More than 5,500 delegates gathered to take part in hands-on workshops and listen to motivating keynote speakers.

  • AAIC: The 2017 Alzheimer’s Association International Conference celebrated its largest ever attendance – attracting 5,600 attendees from 68 countries. The London Eye had its 6,000 LED lights switched to purple to raise awareness of the disease.

KDD 2018 was a huge success, and we managed to significantly exceed both our attendee and sponsorship records. I have no doubt that was made possible due to our London location, the professional services offered to us by ExCeL London and the support of London & Partners.
