About

Explore the newly transformed Young V&A in east London, co-designed with children and young people.

Formerly the Museum of Childhood, the "younger sibling" of the Victoria and Albert Museum is aimed at the interests, skills and needs of children and teenagers aged up to 14 years old, as they build creative confidence.

What is there to see at Young V&A?

There are three permanent gallery spaces called Imagine, Play and Design.

Visitors can book tickets for shows in its temporary exhibition space. The new displays, which include items from the V&A’s main archive, are all created with children in mind.

Get hands-on with interactive displays including sensory playscapes, a finger skateboard park and the Imagination Playground construction zone. Budding stars of the future can show off their performance skills on the amphitheatre-style stage in the Imagine area of the museum.

Head to the Play Gallery where game design space The Arcade, hosts an interactive Minecraft installation or check out street artist Mark Malarko’s murals.

Is Young V&A free to visit?

Young V&A is free to visit for all. Make sure to check in advance for temporary exhibitions and one-off events.
